Harmony
We know when our life is harmonious and all is well. What we don’t always
know is how to make it happen with any degree of regularity or proficiency. It is
interesting to note, the universe is always in balance and harmony. There is always
a reaction to action. A reaction is a balanced response to an action, this is harmonious.
This is a simplistic view of a very complex state of affairs but basically accurate.
It really boils down to what it takes for us as individuals to have balance and harmony in our lives. As all actions have reactions it seems that a primary focus should be on producing actions (thoughts are actions) or at least attempting to produce actions that have a desirable reaction.
If we lived in a vacuum this would be much easier. However, we live in societies that are comprised of many other action/reaction producing beings so they have some say so in how we experience our life. Still this doesn’t absolve us from the responsibility of deciding and attempting to produce the results we want in our experiences.
Fulfillment & Harmony
It is the desire of all humans to be fulfilled. Being fulfilled
is having harmony and balance. Unfortunately this impulse to be fulfilled can play
out in some very disturbing scenarios as well as in beautiful and heart warming ways.
Many people think that the acquisition of large amounts of money will lead to fulfillment.
This may be natural to some degree because it does take a certain amount of income
to be free of the rigors of the pursuit of basic survival needs. But if a little
is good, a lot will really be great is not necessarily a good philosophy.
Some of us go for the power (in some cases this requires large amounts of money as well). Power over others eliminates some of the competition and puts us in a position of control over the actions and reactions of our subjects. Still others live life by default which is allowing the dictates of the culture and circumstance to determine their fate, taking whatever the situation has to offer hoping that someone or something will provide some fulfillment. The vile, the greedy, the oppressed, the peasants and the kings all want to be fulfilled even though their pursuit of such may range from distorted and despicable to worthy and honorable.
Balance & Harmony
Balance and harmony are the result of personal integrity. No amount
of money, power or worldly attainments can provide balance and harmony if there is
no personal integrity. One may have wealth, power and acclaim without any integrity;
however, just because someone is destitute does not mean that they have integrity,
or lack of integrity for that matter.
A factor in having balance and harmony is the ability to willfully create a life that is satisfying and worthy. When the spirit guides and the mind directs the body to create accordingly, we are fulfilled and there is balance and harmony to our life. We must listen to our inner guidance (which is always aligned with universal values) to find peace and balance.
